Are taxes included in Australian hotel rates?

When you see accommodation rates for hotels and apartments in Australia quoted online or via email are they inclusive of all taxes or is there extra service charges, taxes and fees that you have to pay when you checkout.

Yes all prices that you see quoted on Australian online websites will be inclusive of all taxes, fees and service charges (which aren't really applicable in Australia).

By law in Australia when prices are quoted for anything, including online accommodation, the price must include GST which is the only tax that is applicable.
