How many apartments are there on the Gold Coast?

I have been searching around on the internet for accommodation on the Gold Coast and am staggered by all of the resort and apartment options that are available. So can anyone tell me roughly how many hotels, resorts and serviced apartments there are on the Gold Coast.

There is just an abundance of accommodation properties right along the Gold Coast, possibly too many to actually count, but at the best guess there are over 1000 different holiday apartments, motels, hotels and backpacker hostels from Coolangatta to Runaway Bay.
