What is the difference between a studio apartment and a 1 bedroom apartment?

Can anyone please tell me what is the differences between a studio apartment and a 1 bedroom apartment. Am I correct in thinking that the 1 bedroom apartment is simply larger in size or is there something else that is different about them.

As a general rule a studio apartment has a kitchen, lounge room and bedding area all in the one room, whilst a 1 bedroom apartment has a separate bedroom which you can close off from the kitchen and lounge area.

Other differences (apart from the ones mentioned previously) between a studio apartment and a 1 bedroom apartment is that a studio apartment is nearly always smaller in size than a 1 bedroom apartment. Also a lot of the time a studio apartment only has limited kitchen facilities and a 1 bedroom apartment has full kitchen facilities, so make sure that you read the description of the room carefully.
