How many kilometres is it around Australia?

I am considering taking the whole family on a road trip around Australia and was just wondering how many kilometres it is around the country. We are looking at hiring a campervan/Winebago and need to know how long it will take to go right around the country and are the roads suitable for that type of vehicle.
